Use Less. Offset the Rest

One way to reduce your carbon footprint and offset the emissions from your natural gas use is to enroll in Smart Energy.  By doing so, you will help support our State's ambitious greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.

We also believe that nothing can serve as a substitute for the wise use of energy through efficient appliances, and conservation. Oregonians can reduce greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide (CO2) by choosing high-efficiency natural gas appliances instead of electric ones. A high-efficiency furnace, water heater, cook top and dryer produce an average of 20 percent fewer emissions than comparable high-efficiency electric equipment - including an electric heat pump.
